Episode #13 – Katrina Walker, investment banker to textile designer
Katrina Walker is an amazing woman, and I was so pleased when she agreed to be on the show. Her energy, knowledge and compassion shone through during our interview, and I know you’ll enjoy listening to her as much as I enjoyed talking to her.
Make yourself available when serendipity comes knocking on your door.
A bit about Katrina
Katrina didn’t start her creative career as a designer though. She started in the high rise corporate world of investment banking. As a young graduate, she quickly realised that it would be more cost effective to sew her own business garments than to buy them, but it was this need for a corporate cupboard that eventually led to her ditching the glass desk and swapping it for a sewing table instead.
What Katrina talks about:
- Social media for creatives
- Impostor syndrome
- The reality of her “glamorous” life as an instructor for big name sewing companies
- The importance of making yourself available when serendipity comes knocking on your door.
